Ravi Chittiprolu ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Ravi Geo Camera mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and managing your data responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains how our App handles user information, specifically regarding device permissions and data storage.

1. Information Collection and Use

Our App is a specialized utility designed to capture photos embedded with real-time geographic data (such as GPS latitude, longitude, altitude, accuracy, and local weather details).

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) to external servers. All core processes happen locally on your mobile device.

2. Device Permissions Required

To deliver the core functionalities of a geo-tagging camera, the App requires access to the following device features:

  • Camera Permission: Required to allow the App to preview and capture physical photographs. Photos are only taken when you explicitly interact with the capture trigger.

  • Location Permissions (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION & ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION): Required to fetch accurate, real-time GPS coordinates, elevation, and accuracy metrics. This information is processed strictly locally to overlay geographic watermarks on your captured frames and write EXIF metadata.

  • Storage / Media Access Permission: Required to save the finalized watermarked images into your device's public gallery (Pictures/RaviGeoMapCamera) and to scan images locally for the internal photo-map feature.

3. Data Privacy and Local Storage

  • No Server Transfers: The images you capture, the notes you type, and the GPS location data processed by the App remain entirely on your device. We do not maintain any database or server infrastructure to store your photos or location logs.

  • Third-Party APIs: The App coordinates with standard, verified third-party API services (such as Google Maps Static API for base maps, and OpenWeather/Open-Elevation endpoints) to pull situational reference data. These queries are anonymous and do not share any personal profiles.

3.1. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdMob)

We integrate Google AdMob, a third-party advertising service provided by Google Inc., to display advertisements within the App to support its continuous development and maintenance. To deliver personalized and relevant ads, perform frequency capping, and combat fraud, Google AdMob automatically collects and processes certain non-personal device information.

This includes data types such as your device's Advertising ID (GAID), approximate geographic location, and device-specific hardware identifiers. This data is transmitted directly to Google's secured advertising servers and is managed in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt-out of personalized advertising at any time or reset your Advertising ID directly via your Android device's native settings (Settings -> Privacy -> Ads).

4. Data Security

Because all data is processed strictly on your local hardware, the security of your photos depends directly on your device's security configuration. We recommend maintaining standard OS updates and device encryption to protect your localized data.

5. Children’s Privacy

Our App does not collect any data, making it inherently safe for users of all ages, including children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly extract or prompt for any personal data from anyone.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to align with evolving Play Store developer requirements or technical advancements. Any adjustments will be updated directly on this page with a revised effective date.
